Acesulfame

Acesulfame potassium (E950) was discovered in 1967 and today is one of the most important intensive sweeteners.

In appearance, acesulfame is a non-hygroscopic white single crystal.

Acesulfame dissolves well in water and in dilute aqueous solutions of alcohols, can be stored for several years.

In the human body, acesulfame is rapidly absorbed and rapidly excreted.

An important field of application of acesulfame is the production of dietary and low-calorie non-alcoholic beverages, since this sweetener is characterized by good stability under conditions of fairly low pH values of carbonated beverages. It has the property of emphasizing the fruity flavor and aroma, and the use of sweeteners does not give off-tastes.

The properties of acesulfame allow it to be used in the production of dairy products, baked goods, confectionery products, ice cream, table sweeteners, cosmetic products.
